Monday, Wednesday-Saturday
Guru Gita Chant
In-person, chairs and floor cushions available
5:30 – 6:30 am
The Guru Gita is a mantra. Mantras are sacred Sanskrit words, phrases, or long chants that are specifically designed to both clean and clear the mind and bring you to a state of meditation. We use this long chant to let go of our thoughts and prepare in a more meaningful way for our day ahead. The Sanskrit language is used primarily for meditation, and in so we believe has a stronger ability to aid your focus in meditation, more than for instance positive affirmations. If you’re not familiar with Sanskrit or even meditation, don’t let that stop you from trying it!
Morning Mantra/Meditation
6:30 – 7:00 am
After the Guru Gita we sit for about 30 minutes together to absorb the positive energy of the chant. Group meditation before your day is invaluable and will set you on the path of growth before the mind gets too active. A Sanskrit mantra that’s part of our lineage may be given to work with as a tool to focus the awareness on . Please feel free to ask questions and chat with Ashram residents afterwards. We welcome all.
*Please no yoga clothes, shorts, sweat pants, jeans. Temple attire is more formal, i.e. nice pants/slacks and blouse/shirt, or long dresses/skirts. Medicine Buddha Meditation

In-person, chairs and floor cushions available
Every Sunday morning we get to do the Medicine Buddha practice together. First we cultivate the qualities of bodhichitta (in Buddhism, the qualities of boundless love, compassion, joy, and equanimity), then chant (in the Tibetan language) the Medicine Buddha Practice we’ve been given by H.H. Drikung Kyabgön Chetsang Rinpoche. If you’re not familiar with tibetan mantras, don’t worry! We provide instruction, the transliteration (Tibetan practice written in English letters) is simple to follow, and the language itself is very relaxing and rejuvenating.
We welcome you to this very special practice!
